About Us – Office Policies
Hours
Our hours are 8:00-5:00, Monday through Friday, and 8:00-12:00 on Saturdays (by appointment only on Saturdays) in the winter.
We also have a walk-in clinic for established patients, Monday through Friday from 8:00-8:45 am. This clinic is for acute, new onset illnesses only.
Appointments
Office visits (except for true emergencies) are by appointment only. We see children from birth to 18 years. To help provide timely service to our patients, we prefer to schedule all visits. If you are more than 20 minutes late for your appointment, we will try to work your child back into the schedule, or perhaps offer an appointment with another provider. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may ask you to reschedule the appointment.
For those visiting our office for the first time, please download and fill out our “New Patient Questionnaire” form found in the Patient Forms section and bring to your appointment.
Well Child Visits
To keep your children healthy, it is important to bring them in for regular checkups. We recommend that you call about 6 weeks in advance so you may select the date that best fits your needs.
Please bring your chid's immunization records and your “Health Book” to the well check visit so we can help you track your children’s growth and progress. Bring any school and/or camp health forms to be filled out by the physician at the time of your visit. Do not forget to have all parental required fields filled prior to the appointment. School and camp forms can be filled out at a later date, but please be aware there is a charge (please see our Practice Policies for more details).
Sick Child Visits
We make every attempt to schedule appointments for sick children on the same day. If you have a true medical emergency during office hours, we will do our best to see your child immediately or refer you to the appropriate medical facility. If you would like us to see more than one child, please schedule both of them when you make your appointment. Without an appointment, we may not be able to see a sick sibling right away, and you may be asked to wait while the provider sees already scheduled patients.
After Hours/ Emergencies
Our answering service is available with a physician on-call whenever our office is closed by calling our main office number, 913-541-3300. From the moment we close until the next morning when we are open again, a triage nurse will be available to answer your questions. If necessary, the nurse can relay your message to the physician on-call. If your child becomes acutely ill after office hours and you cannot wait until the next morning, the answering service will take your call and the triage nurse will get back to you as soon as possible. The nurse will determine whether we can manage the situation by phone and see you in the office the next morning or whether it will be necessary to have your child seen at an age-appropriate after-hours clinic.
Phone Hours
When we take our phones off the answering service at 8:30 they can be quite busy. If you have a call that is not urgent, please wait until later in the day before calling. By then, things have settled down and your question can be handled in a more relaxed manner.
You are encouraged to call with any questions you have about your child. Remember it would be unfair to our patients in the office if the doctor left to answer each phone call. Our nurses are well trained in answering many of your questions or deciding if your child needs to be seen that day. They will also relay your information to the doctor if necessary and your call will be returned or otherwise answered at the earliest opportunity.
Prescription Refills
We request these be handled only during office hours. Please do not call after hours for routine questions that can be answered during normal business hours. We do not prescribe or authorize antibiotic prescriptions over the phone.
Billing and Payment
We expect payment of your copay at the time of service. We give a 20% discount to self pay patients who pay at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept the following credit cards:

Payment arrangements can be set up by calling our business office for additional information at 913-541-3320.
Please note there is a $25 charge for missed well child visits unless you cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance
Medical Records
Medical Records must be requested by filling out a release form (see our forms page) that is signed by a parent or guardian. Shot records can be faxed or mailed to the parent by request at no charge. There is a fee for records copied for insurance purposes or parent's personal use.
Insurance
Below is a partial list of the insurances that we participate with. Please have your child’s card with you at the time of the visit. If we file your claim, you are responsible for only the copay at the time of visit. If we are not a provider for your insurance or if you are not insured, you may be responsible for the entire charge at the time of service. If you have any question as to whether we participate with your insurance please call the business office at 913-541-3320.
