Because the mental health and well-being of our patients and their families is of vital concern, we are proud to have Dr. Christi Bostwick as our developmental and child psychologist at Pediatric Professional Association.
Child psychologists help teachers, parents and others manage children's behavior. When young children act inappropriately in school or at home, they can disrupt the classroom and home life. A child psychologist works with children and their parents to help identify potential underlying problems and to help change the behavior. Psychologists help parents understand how to use applied behavioral principles such as rewards and positive reinforcements as well as consequences including time-outs.
Child psychologists counsel both parents and children on a wide range of issues, including family difficulties, social problems and behavioral health disorders such as childhood depression and anxiety. A child psychologist often integrates the entire family and uses his/her understanding of family systems to facilitate better relationships among family members.
Dr. Bostwick conducts developmental and psychological assessments of children and adolescents, ages 0-18 years. By conducting comprehensive evaluations of the developmental and psychological status of our patients, she can better address developmental limitations or help correct behavioral issues. Specifically, Dr. Bostwick works with children with the following issues:

Dr. Bostwick can help identify and work with patients with autism spectrum disorders, and she can also help facilitate placement with other clinicians that specialize in these disorders.
